SIM cards have been distributed to La Huerta National High School teaching and non-teaching personnel since August 3, 2021. This is in accordance with the department’s commitment to provide essential services and assistance to its personnel amid the pandemic. The SIM cards are loaded with an initial connectivity capacity of 34GB upon activation. The department will allocate load to the SIM cards monthly to ensure that all teaching and non-teaching personnel will continue to have internet connection to be used during online meetings, webinars and online classes. As of this writing, 41 out of 50 teachers and 13 out of 15 non-teaching personnel have claimed their SIM cards. This project is led by the Information and Communications Technology Service helmed by Director Abram Y.C. Abanil, under the Administration Strand led by Undersecretary Alain Del B. Pascua and Assistant Secretary Salvador Malana III. Certainly, this move is under the leadership of Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones.
